Ferrous and non-ferrous metal traders Reliance Scrap Metal rely heavily on their €1 million shear machine to keep their business running. Regular hydraulic oil changes are vital in keeping the machine working at its optimum, but can costly as the maintenance requires some downtime.

In order to limit this financial impact, Reliance Scrap Metal asked Southern Lubricants to schedule in efficient, regular hydraulic oil changes when the machine manufacturers were on site, that would result in minimum machine downtime and disruption.

We liaised with a company that specialises in the collection and recycling of waste oil to be on site at the same time as we delivered 5,500 litres of hydraulic oil to Reliance Scrap Metal, which meant that the shear machine was cleaned out, inspected and refilled at the same time, significantly reducing downtime and disruption.

Over time, we have developed a strong working relationship with Reliance Scrap Metal, providing them with the products, industry knowledge and support they need to keep running an efficient business.
